This scale was produced by the world-famous company Fairbanks, which has been operating continuously since 1830 until today. Fairbanks is definitely one of the brands that helped bring the U.S. into the era of industrialization. This Victorian-style scale was manufactured at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, has a patent seal from 26th February 1895 and 3rd March 1896 – visible in the close-ups. The scale was probably used in a doctor’s office. A great attention to details and the visual effect is unbelievable and not very common nowadays any more. The scale is mainly made of cast iron, and the measuring instruments are made of brass. It still has the original painting, which is very rare. The charming and original logotype of the company has also been preserved. Over the years it has acquired a wonderful patina and is in very good condition considering its age.
