These chairs were designed by Lubomír Hofmann and produced in 1960s by a Czechoslovakian company TON. The chairs are made of beechwood in a unique TON technique of bent plywood. TON (previously Thonet) was a pioneer back in those days in bent plywood technique and used it in innovative designs creating beautiful shaped furniture that are still widely appreciated nowadays. The chairs are very comfortable and their ergonomic design allows you to rest steady and naturally. Softly shaped armrests fit perfectly to your hand. The chairs have been completely restored – this set has been reupholstered in high-quality fabric from Nya Nordiska in beautiful melange of grey and brown colors (30% cotton 25% wool 20% acrylic 15% polyester 10% silk). The backrests are veneered with beech wood and refinished with oil which gave them nice finishing touch of warm wooden surface and natural mat finish. Please note that these are vintage items and although complete restoration process was carried out, they may show some small traces of use or imperfections.
